Former PAS members are better off joining PKR than the PAS splinter group, as Parti Amanah Negara wants to “destroy” the Islamic party, a PAS leader claims.

PAS vice-president Iskandar Abdul Samad said this in response to the announcement today that Tumpat MP Kamaruddin Jafaar and former Selangor menteri besar Muhammad Muhd Taib have joined PKR.

“It is better they join PKR than GHB (Gerakan Harapan Baru) or Parti Amanah Negara.

“GHB and Amanah only want to destroy PAS,” Iskandar told Malaysiakini .

Former PAS progressive leaders formed their own party after they were completely wiped out from the top leadership in the last party elections earlier this year, in what they claimed to be a concerted effort of the ulama faction to monopolise power.
