The Conference of Rulers' stand on the 1MDB imbroglio continues to draw support, with a foundation now calling on the powers that be to stop concealing the truth.

Yayasan 1Malaysia chairperson Dr Chandra Muzaffar said the wise counsel of the sultans must be heeded.

"One hopes that all those who wield power and influence in Malaysian society at this point in time will pay close attention to every word in the statement of the Conference of Rulers.

"The advice contained therein, if followed scrupulously, will help to resolve some serious challenges pertaining to integrity and honesty in governance facing the nation today.

"If, on the other hand, the wise counsel of the rulers is ignored, and the truth continues to be concealed and camouflaged through Machiavellian political machinations, the people will suffer and the future of the nation will be imperiled," he added in a statement.

Stating that the nation is at a crossroads, Chandra said the national leadership has to do what is morally right now.

Earlier, veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin questioned if Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his supporters would heed the rulers, or commit lese majeste.

In a statement yesterday, the rulers urged for the 1MDB probe to be completed soon and those who violated the law to face justice.
