"Today's proceedings were wrong in terms of law and fact. On that principle, the PAS representatives in the House today supported efforts to reject the suspension motion.
"For us, the bigger issue is national problems, not contempt," Takiyuddin said at a press conference at the Parliament's lobby, together with the rest of the opposition leaders.
Among the PAS lawmakers present were Bukit Gantang MP Idris Ahmad and Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar.
Also present were former PAS lawmakers who are now in Amanah, such as Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, Sepang MP Hanipa Maidin and Parit Buntar MP Mujahid Yusof Rawa.
Takiyuddin said Lim should have been able to defend himself, and his suspension meant that "natural justice" was not upheld.
Severed ties
PAS and DAP had severed ties this year, after a series of disagreements.
DAP had first cut ties with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, prompting the Islamist party's muktamar to approve a motion to consider severing ties with DAP.
DAP took this to mean that their 'divorce' was final, and Lim announced that Pakatan Rakyat was dead.
The opposition then reformed Pakatan as Pakatan Harapan, with just PKR, DAP and PAS splinter group Amanah as partners.
After the break-up, PAS has said it would only work with PKR.
