Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor branded Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin as 'arrogant' for not being receptive to party president Najib Abdul Razak's winding-up speech.

"That is the problem, (Muhyiddin is) arrogant, what can you do?" said Tengku Adnan after the conclusion of the five-day Umno general assembly this evening at the PWTC in Kuala Lumpur.

He was responding to a question on what he thought of Muhyiddin not rising with his party colleagues when Najib delivered his spirited winding-up speech.

However, multiple sources within the assembly hall told Malaysiakin i that Muhyiddin did indeed stand up together with his colleagues when Najib declared himself to be “magnanimous" towards his opponents.

The sources said Muhyiddin, however, only stood up briefly and then sat down again while his other colleagues remained standing and gave Najib a standing ovation.
