The Umno annual general assembly may have concluded yesterday but Umno president Najib Abdul Razak appears to be still in the mood for party slogans.

In a lighthearted moment at the Malaysia Cyber Games 2015 competition this afternoon, the prime minister cheered 'Hidup Umno!', in response to a fist pump from a small robot.

Najib was visiting the exhibition booths set up in the sidelines of the competition.

After watching part of the Dota 2 cybergame finals and trying his hand at a virtual dogfight, the prime minister came across the white humanoid robot sitting on a round table. As though on cue, the robot stood up.

The politician reached out in a bid to shake hands with the robot but instead of returning the gesture, the robot did a fist pump into the air.

This prompted Najib do to do the same, shouting “Hidup Umno!”, much to the amusement of those around them.

The Malaysia Cyber Games competition saw prizes being offered to top gamers of several popular games such as Dota 2, Fifa 16, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The prize pool for the Dota 2 competition was the largest, with the winning team due to walk away with RM125,000 and a chance to represent Malaysia in international Dota 2 tournaments. The results are expected tonight.

The tournament also received recognition from the Malaysian Book of Records for being the largest cybergame tournament in the country, with 792 participating teams.

Among the co-organisers for the competition was the Group Suara Anak Muda 1Malaysia (SAM1M), with backing from the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and others government and corporate bodies.

SAM1M president is Armand Azha Abu Hanifah, who is also an Umno Youth exco member.

The other co-organiser was Tune Advertising Sdn Bhd.
