DAP has brushed off claims that it was offered RM1.2 billion during the last general election and that an Israeli military base will be built if the party took over Putrajaya.

“It’s ridiculous,” DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke said simply of the claim.

Loke was responding to allegations made by PAS research director Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki on the matter.

Zuhdi was quoted by The Rakyat Post yesterday that DAP was offered the money and in return, would build an Israeli military camp in Port Dickson if it captured Putrajaya.

The PAS leader also stated that the DAP had never denied or gave explanations on the claim.

Meanwhile, asked whether DAP was planning to take legal action against Zuhdi, Loke said they will announce it at a later time.

“We will announce it later. No comment yet,” he said, curtly.

Zuhdi came into prominence last year after a leaked screenshot of a conversation on WhatsApp revealed that PAS central committee leaders had actively discussed possible scenarios of leaving then opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat.

The screenshot – which was circulated on Facebook – showed Zuhdi discussing teaming up with Umno.
