TPPA - woman charged with hurting PM's feelings
A woman was today charged at the Sepang Sessions Court with making a Facebook posting that insults Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak over the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.
Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, 26, who used the Facebook account of 'Ratu Naga', was charged under the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission Act with making a posting which may hurt the feelings of others, at Tower 1, MCMC building, on Jan 26.
A woman was today charged at the Sepang Sessions Court with making a Facebook posting that hurt the feelings of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak over the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA).
Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, 26, who used the Facebook handle of 'Ratu Naga', was charged under the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act with making a posting which may hurt the feelings of others, at Tower 1 of the MCMC headquaters in Putrajaya on Jan 26.
She originally made the posting at 12.02am on Oct 6, 2015.
The construction consultant is charged under Section 233 (3) of the MCMC Act 1998.
She claimed trial to the charge and was released on a bail of RM7,000.
DPP Faizah Mohd Salleh appeared for the prosecution together with MCMC prosecuting officer Norhani Mohd Adzhar.
Sessions judge Aizatul Akmal Maharani fixed March 22 for mention of the case.
