Strange that Adenan let 'racist' Hadi into Sarawak

YOURSAY | 'Hadi is welcomed into Sarawak by Adenan - no special permission, no deadline to leave...'

No DAP, only Muslims should rule S’wak, Sabah, says Hadi

Anonymous #70881335: Can someone knock some cow sense into PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, and let him know there are more Christians than Muslims in Sarawak?

And Sabah too, if not for the influx of illegals from Mindanao?

Hamzah Paiman: Sarawak bumiputera who are not Muslims but are native of the soil have every right to rule the state. Who are you, Hadi – a warga asing from Terengganu - to comment about their state?

Why isn't he barred from Sarawak, Chief Minister Adenan Satem? He is truly dividing the people of Sarawak.

Quigonbond: With this kind of talk, how could Adenan keep quiet? Isn't he supposed to be the wall of moderation of which conservatives with outmoded ideas such as one held by Hadi are repelled from Sarawak?

All the moderation that he has represented himself to possess has withered away during the election campaign, showing that he is just yet another 'Badawi phenomenon' with a lot of lofty ideals bogged down by the narrow and divisive politics of BN.

Speaking Sense: Hadi is welcomed into Sarawak by Adenan - no special permission, no deadline to leave, free to say and do whatever he wants, despite his appalling record in West Malaysia.

So what is the message for the Dayaks and Chinese, and the Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, those of other religions - that Adenan will look after all races and religions?

But see who his friends are.

CHKS: These are the people Adenan should block at the Sarawak Immigration for causing division and segregation, and inciting racial hatred in Sarawak.

Mojo Jojo: Adenan is playing his cards right by allowing someone like Hadi entry into Sarawak.

After Hadi's explosive speech, all Adenan has to do is trumpet the importance of prohibiting peninsular politics from seeping into East Malaysia.

On the other hand, allowing the likes of DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail unrestricted access into the hinterlands of Sarawak would just invite genuine electorate competition, which Adenan wants to avoid at all cost.

Well played, Adenan, you are a true student of Machiavelli.

Frank: This man is clearly an embarrassment to thinking Muslims everywhere.

Indeed, the Prophet is said to have said: Allah's blessings shall come to the land where the leader is just (adil), even when he is non-Muslim, instead of to the land where the leader is Muslim but a tyrant.

Benghazi: Whether PAS allows DAP to rule Sarawak or not isn't important because it will be decided by Sarawakians. PAS had betrayed Pakatan Rakyat and is not to be trusted. The people of Sarawak should reject such a party and indications are they will.

Charles Hector: Hadi makes one of his foolish comments yet again – is this really PAS' official stand?

Who becomes the menteri besar or chief minister is the peoples' choice, and this is determined by who gets the support of the majority of the state assemblypersons. Is this

also the position of PKR and Pakatan Harapan?

Why is the Selangor constitution not being amended yet to enable the assemblypersons to choose the best person to be the MB? After all, the opposition has more than two-thirds majority in the state assembly.

Dr Suresh Kumar: What has opposition leader Wan Azizah or her husband Anwar Ibrahim got to say about this PAS leader's assertion? And what are the Sarawak Christian bumiputeras going to do about this?

All this while Malaysia has been ruled by a Muslim Malay as Hadi says, and what do we see today? Rampant abuse of power, severe corruption, murders, institutional racism, pilferage of the national coffers in the billions, GLCs going bust, a very poor educational system, plunging university ranks, religious conflicts, you name it.

So, a Muslim leader is not the answer; a credible, honest, sincere and a transparent Malaysian is the answer. There should be no place for religious bigots in Malaysia if it wants to progress. Period.

Shunyata: How can you say that you treat all races fairly, then go on to comment that however, only Muslim bumis can helm the state leadership?

As current advisers to the ruling government in the peninsula, what have you achieved? Umno-BN is shaming the name of Islam on an international platform and you proudly claim to be their mentors.

Do Islam a favour and stop tarnishing its image.
