Najib reveals he plays ‘hangman’ when bored at meetings

When Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is bored during meetings, he pulls out his mobile phone and plays hangman, a game requiring a person to guess words.

Najib revealed this during a question-and-answer session with Catcha Group CEO Patrick Grove at the Wild Digital Conference in Le Meridian Kuala Lumpur today.

The prime minister asked what mobile phone games he would indulge in if a meeting he was attending happened to be a boring affair.

During the 30-minute session, Najib also revealed his fondness for Motown music, and that he also liked new singers such as Bruno Mars.

“I'm a pretty big fan of Motown music. I love Motown music. I love the way they move, they got rhythm. I like to see people with rhythm,” he added.

Najib said his iTunes collection also contained songs from the 70s, which he listened to on a regular basis.

Apart from this, the prime minister disclosed a penchant for songs by Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder.

Najib also told the conference that the advent of the social media and better education have made the urban electorate to be more demanding of politicians.

In the past, he said, the people’s major concerns were about  electricity for their homes and businesses, better roads and community halls.

“Forty years ago, it was simpler. People wanted electricity, roads, public halls.

“But today, people have moved on. People in urban areas are much more demanding and the level of expectation is much, much higher,” he added.

Earlier, Najib had posted a photograph of himself and Grove.

“Rocking at Wild Digital @PatrickGrove in my new hoodie #daboss #boom,” reads the prime minister’s caption.
