PAS today warned other opposition parties that there will be "shared consequences" if there were no seat negotiations with PAS in the lead up the the 14th general election.

Vice-president Iskandar Abdul Samad said PAS is willing to abide to agreements which can ensure straight fights.

"PAS will respect agreements for straight fights. If not there will be a 'free for all' situation and PAS will explore new territories.

"PAS machinery have been told to prepare for this possibility. We will all face the consequences," he said in a statement today.

He said PAS is ready for "any new political landscape" including multi-corner fights.

He also said PAS has no issue with its splinter party Amanah contesting in seats that PAS previously stood in, but implied that this would mean multi-corner fights.

This is because PAS will not back down and give way for Amanah to contest against BN.

"If Amanah really wants to replace PAS then contest against PAS. Don't tell other parties to oppose PAS just because Amanah is fearful. We will wait for them," he said.

Last week Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub said it will not contest in any seat which is also contested by its allies PKR, DAP and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

However, Amanah information chief Khalid Samad said the party has a chance of winning in 40 parliamentary constituencies, including those previously contested by PAS and PKR.

This prompted Iskandar to say that Amanah was showing its true colours by voicing intention to steal seats from PKR.
