US thrash metal band Megadeth has expressed willingness to remove "offensive" songs from their set list tonight.

Frontman Dave Mustaine asked Malaysian followers on Twitter to cite songs that "offends Malaysians or their faith" and disclosed that they had to avoid certain songs when touring China.

"Thank you. If there is a song that offends Malaysians or their faith, please tell me. I wish to offend no one here. We cut songs for China," wrote Mustaine.

He was replying to one Hasbullah Najib, who told the legendary singer and guitar player that PAS Youth would not be protesting at the concert venue.

Megadeth will be playing at Stadium Negara tonight as part of their "Dystopia" world tour. The song "Dystopia" won the band a Grammy award in February.

Of late, there has been speculation that the concert would attract a demonstration from PAS, which has a long track record of being vocal against visiting international acts.

Such acts include Metallica, Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey, Elton John, Beyonce Knowles, Michael Learns to Rock, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, Inul Daratista, Gwen Stefani, Scorpions and Linkin Park.

Recently, PAS delegates at the party's annual assembly complained about the Selangor government's decision to allow the Selena Gomez concert to go ahead in July last year.

Yesterday, PAS Youth denied allegations that they will be demonstrating in front of the concert venue, but stressed that they were still strongly against the concert.

According to PAS Youth information chief Hishamuddin Abdul Karim, Megadeth has been banned from performing in Malaysia before and the same should apply today.
