Police to quiz exco's ex-lover
Police will record a statement from Selangor executive councillor Elizabeth Wong's ex-boyfriend over her nude photographs, said Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar.
Police will record a statement from Selangor executive councillor Elizabeth Wong's ex-boyfriend over her nude photographs, said Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar.
The ex-boyfriend, who is a PKR member, was the former parliamentary researcher for Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian.
Met at the Parliament lobby later, Hee said he did not know the whereabouts of his former aide and refused to entertain questions pertaining to the matter.
"No I don't know, I have no idea. Don't ask me where he is," said the MP.
At this juncture, PKR information chief and Batu MP Tian Chua told the media to respect Wong's privacy and not harp on the issue.
"It has nothing to do with her duties as an executive councillor and and as an assemblyperson... please respect her individual affair," he told reporters adding on that he does not want to be approached on the matter again.
Opposition leader and PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim also refrained from commenting on this matter.
"I have no business with anybody's boyfriends. It is not my business... and this is not politics but basic abuse of personal gutter politics," he said.
Cops search her house
Meanwhile, Khalid said police had received two nude photographs, as well as a compact disc, of Wong from a Malay Mail journalist.
So far, police have recorded statements from two
Malay Mail
journalists and two other journalists from
The Sun
in connection with the case.
He said police were now monitoring websites which posted the pictures.
Khalid advised those in possession of the politician's nude pictures to either destroy them or hand them over to the police, adding that stern action would be taken against those found distributing the pictures.
It was later learnt that a team from the police forensics department had conducted a search at Wong's residence in Bukit Gasing this afternoon.
It is also believed that investigations will be handled by the Kuala Lumpur police as her residence falls under the Brickfield's police's jurisdiction.
Yesterday, Wong, 37, offered to resign as exco and Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson over the case.
In a related development, PKR vice-president Azmin Ali said the party's top leadership will meet tonight to further deliberate on the next course of action.
