vox populi big thumbnail ‘So these government VVIPs and VIPs do not know nor do they understand fully the plight and pain of the Malaysian people.'

On Gov't U-turn: Toll hike put off

Meng Yee:

A former minister was quoted as saying; ‘I did not need to pay toll before as a minister, but now that I have to, I feel the pinch'.

Welcome to being a commoner, a peasant and a slave in your own country! These government VVIPs and VIPs do not know nor do they understand fully the plight and pain of the Malaysian people.

Umno and the BN government has lost touch totally with our situation and hardships. Why should they understand? After all they behave like they are above the law.

Mohd Khir Toyo, former MB of Selangor, received benefits from his employer, the state government in the form of a car and driver. He admitted that he did not pay tax for these benefits.

I now wait to see if the Inland Revenue Board would go after Khir Toyo and require him to pay back all the accrued taxes with a fine. If they do not, then it is clear for all to see that these VVIPs and VIPs are exempted from Malaysian law.

Come the next general elections, we, the rakyat , must reclaim our land and boot out these people who makes laws but do not live by them.

Instead, they make life more difficult for the Malaysian people and continue to rape and rob our beloved land. Enough is enough!

On Malays in PAS, PKR blamed for emboldening DAP

Appum: There you go again, another racist mind which will use racial reasons straight away to justify his shallow thinking. He is using cheap psychology to arouse the sentiments of the Malays in PKR and PAS.

Hello, Ali, this is the 21 st century and the mind set of the Malays are not as shallow as you perceived them to be. Umno is out of touch with the times. They (Umno) have developed in them this racial gene after 50 years of racial practice.

If they keep on using this negative gene, they will definitely not survive the next general election where the fittest (as the opposition is being tested now) will overcome the weaker.

After 50 years of a good time, Umno has developed complacency and self-righteousness. They then use race as their baseline term of reference every time an issue crops up .

Sorry Umno and BN. So much has been written and said between March 8, 2008 till now about your need to change, yet you are still in the denial stage.

On Post-mortem: 'Severe beating' led to Kugan's death

Concerned Malaysian: An independent post-mortem report conducted by a pathologist commissioned by A Kugan's family indicated that this police detainee died of kidney failure due to a severe beating.

Kugan who died while being questioned in police custody on Jan 20, was initially said by the Serdang Hospital authorities to have died due to liquid in his lungs.

According to the second post-mortem report, the beating caused a breakdown in Kugan's muscle cells, which then congested the blood flow which in turn caused a kidney failure.

Pictorial evidence also showed that Kugan suffered from massive internal bleeding due to the severe beating.

So will the doctor who performed the first post-mortem be questioned and the chief of police who lied to the rakyat be charged in court now?

Or do we have to wait for another death before both the government and Syed Hamid Albar even lift a finger? The rakyat is watching your next move.

On Hindraf 5 to remain in detention

RR: Keeping the 5 Hindraf leaders in detention is a great sin this government is committing to humanity. It is also committing sacrilege to the tenets of worship for God Almighty for this injustice despite the voices of all right-thinking people demanding their immediate release.

Yet, it can now deny proper specialist medical treatment for Uthayakumar known to be a severe diabetic. The government should be held responsible and accountable should anything happen to this man's life.

He was the cause for wisdom to dawn upon all Malaysians in urging for a balanced government today.

The opposition, particularly Anwar, should make a combined strong stand on this matter as they are there largely because of the Hindraf leaders.

The government, particularly Pak Lah, should not earn the wrath of God Almighty and all the right-thinking Malaysians by still keeping the Hindraf 5 under ISA detention.

On MIED CEO lashes out at Samy

Yuvan: Chithirakala and Samy Vellu can keep accusing each other of all misdeeds and improprieties. Both of them have lodged police reports against each other.

But Chithirakala is clearly in a disadvantaged position here as she is a ‘nobody' compared to Samy Vellu. My only hope is that her reports will be investigated thoroughly and fairly.

We really do not know who is telling the truth but one thing seems very disturbing. Millions of ringgit were at the disposal of both MIED and YPS.

Didn't the board or committee members of these two organisations have any say in their affairs and operations? It appears like they allowed Samy Vellu and Chitirakala to do whatever they wanted with all that money!

On Another U-turn: Ban on 'Allah' in Christian publications remains

Not A Politician:

This is not a religious issue. Umno is turning it into a political and racial issue.

They know all the arguments and they know that banning the use of the word in Christian publications (by the way, the Sikhs also use the same word) is nonsensical, ridiculous and makes us the laughing stock of the whole world.

But they are bankrupt of ideas to win the people over. They resort to such incredulous tricks as this and others like destablising the Perak government, Anwar's sodomy allegation, etc.

Please Umno the rakyat need you to administer the nation and manage the economy. Many of us are without jobs or are losing them. Stop these dirty tricks and get on with the governing.

Enough is enough.
