This year's edition of the Southeast Asian Healthcare & Pharma Show (SEACare) successfully brought together traders and visitors from all over the world, spotlighting the region's burgeoning potential.

For over 2 decades, this dynamic platform has been a hub for global manufacturers and producers within the healthcare, wellness, consumer products and pharmaceutical industry to converge and showcase their latest innovation in Malaysia.

“Exhibitions like SEACare serve as invaluable platforms, fostering knowledge exchange and industry advancement. These events allow stakeholders to explore innovative possibilities that transcend borders. The Ministry of Health is proud to witness SEACare growing in importance, and becoming even more significant to the industry,” said YB Dato Lukanisman Awang Sauni, Deputy Minister of Health.

Open doors to expand network, market insights, and business prospects

The participation of companies from Iran and Latvia signifies a notable milestone in the 24-year history of SEACare, which is going through a makeover that aims to uplift the show toward becoming the region’s premier healthcare expo.

“We are pleased to announce that all booth spaces have been fully taken up by exhibitors within six months, proving that there is strong regional and international interest in the show,” said Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated (M) Sdn Bhd (Qube), the company which had taken over as the new organiser of SEACare starting this year.

“We hope SEACare can assist in shaping the future of healthcare and pharmaceuticals, in alignment with the government’s goal to position Malaysia as a premier sourcing hub for healthcare,” said Teo, who founded Qube in 2003 and has since led the company to become one of the leading event organisers in the country.

Strategic Collaborations and Dynamic Initiatives at SEACare 2024

As early as January this year, the company begin announcing partnerships with several trade and healthcare organisations such as the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS), to introduce new and engaging programs aimed at bolstering the expo.

Kevin Teo, Project Director of SEACare and General Manager of Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd said the partnerships saw the introduction of a business matching program spearheaded by MATRADE, with a potential sales value of almost RM 30 million on offer by international buyers on the first day itself. The expo also saw informative talk sessions led by industry experts and top policy makers, as well as business networking sessions.

“We hope this networking session and business matching program would facilitate information sharing, engagement and collaboration between companies, associations and others.”

Dr. Muralitharan Paramasua, Chief Executive Officer of Medical Device Authority said the expo showcases many healthcare and pharmaceutical innovations to be explored. "The participation of numerous first-time exhibitors underscores their confidence in Malaysia,” he said.

In addition, the conference part of the expo is proud to be triple accredited by the MPS, the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC), which will enable respective registered Malaysian healthcare specialists to gain CPD points when they attend the knowledge sharing sessions.

SEACare is participated by companies involved in various healthcare fields including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer health, clean room, and facility management systems. Since its inception, SEACare has attracted participation from thousands of exhibitors from across the world, including the United Kingdom, Denmark, China, and Japan.

Next year, the show will be held from 21st to 23rd April in 2025 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
