Perwaja trial starts, alternative charge against Chia
The high-profile trial of tycoon Eric Chia is expected to involve 36 witnesses and scheduled to be heard for four weeks.

The minister says his cabinet responsibilities have doubled and after careful consideration, he has decided to just concentrate on winning a supreme council seat.

The police must arrest those responsible without delay and send out a message that crime does not pay in this country.

Singapore-born Eric Chia is alleged to have authorised the payment of RM76.4 million from Perwaja Steel to Japanese steel company NKK Corporation through a non-existent company in 1994.
