The verdict on Anwar Ibrahim's acquittal signifies the following:

The rakyat must congratulate our judiciary for showing its independence and this heralds a new beginning for our country.

The rakyat must also applaud this verdict for Anwar Ibrahim. This will enable him to seriously move forward his political struggles and reformation.

Equally, the rakyat must congratulate PM Najib Abdul Razak's reformation agenda as it has shown itself as genuine.

It would appear that the PM has neutralised PKR and is showing the whole world that the judiciary in Malaysia is definitely independent.

In the light of these events, the writer holds the view that it is not going to be easy, perhaps even very challenging for Anwar to lead PKR in the next GE13.

The police must also be commended for handling this current issue with absolute professionalism and transparency.

However the acquittal of Anwar is not enough to convince the majority of fence sitters to throw their whole hearted support to BN and Umno.

BN-Umno must seriously show more political will to display its genuine intention to reform and lead the country into a future that is truly democratic, featuring fairplay, justice and intolerance to corrupt practices.

More people holding high positions who have been exposed in corruption must be dealt with without fear or favour by the authorities in accordance with the laws of the country.

Meanwhile, I pray that sanity will return to all political parties in our country.

A strong reminder, the AG's office must be more professional in their performance as the country should be governed by the rules and laws of our country.

"Humbleness is a good virtue, the arrogant shall fall, the meek will rule the world".
