I am appalled by the non-action of the government with regard to the impending water crisis.

I live in Cheras and we have been living without water supply for the last 48 hours, without any due notice. What on earth is going on in the government? Didnt we all just experience this in 1998, with loads of promises that it would never happen again? Where are those promises? Can some investigative reporter follow up on this please?

Malacca never learned from its experience, and now it seems the Klang Valley is heading to the same predicament. Water, the basic necessity of life, is a curse to Klang Valleyians.

I mean, we can build one of the most modern — but unfortunately much underused — airport and only after four years, we dream of it becoming a regional hub. Why didnt someone think before building the airport if we really need to dump so much of money on it? What quality of life does it mean for Malaysians?

Someone in the government need to take up Management 101 and learn Planning.

We bitch about how Singapore has been getting water for practically free? But then again, who did all the negotiating? Why did we agree to these unagreeable terms in the first place?

I read with disgust the bashing of Singapore in Parliament.Kubang Kerian (PAS) member of Parliament Husam Musa was sensible enough to say he was tired of the rhetoric and asked that firm actions be taken with regards to all of our grouses with Singapore.

It is a fair request by the MP for the interest of all Malaysians. Yet he was labelled 'unpatriotic' for it by a former Umno Youth leader.

This says a lot about how naive and stupid some of our MPs have become. We are proud that we have managed to build the tallest tower, the most modern airport, paperless hospitals, Putrajaya with its palatial homes and offices, and perhaps even the dubious honour of selling water at the cheapest rate to another country while our taps run dry in the capital city.

Will we have to wait until the next election to hear promises of how the dry tap problem will be dealt with? How much suffering must Malaysians go through before promises are delivered?
