In the letter Dr M's rant against rich nations irrelevant , Jimmy Wong sounds just like a typical Singaporean, as people reading between the lines can tell.

The problem is, while he attacks Malaysian leaders hoping that Malaysians will adopt his negative view of our own leaders, he does not understand that the more our leaders are attacked by outsiders the more Malaysians are unimpressed by the attackers.

So what is wrong with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's statement that some rich countries are swindling their way into other countries' economies like Malaysia? The fact that it has happened before and it can happen again does not make it less despicable.

The writer tried to confuse readers by saying that bribery ($200-300 million of it, remember?) paid to the foreign investor to relocate to another country is the same as economic incentives and lower production costs. Total rubbish!

If only "Jimmy Wong" was less kiasu (afraid to lose), he would sign off honestly and reveal his true identity, be he a staff at the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur or an executive in Shenton Way on the other side of the causeway. The Internet is so wonderful that people can send in comments from anywhere in the world, isn't it?

Although he is entitled to his views, he should not be dishonest about them. Mahathir's comments about the unethical business practices of some neighbouring countries are correct.
