It was outrageous of PAS chief Abdul Hadi Awang to make irrelevant, personal comments about Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi (and his wife).

What is more disgusting, however, is that thousands of so-called Muslims support and defend everything Abdul Hadi and other PAS leaders say and do. At the risk of inviting swears and curses from these fanatics, I dare question their akidah .

There are too many serious defects of the party, Islam-wise, to write in this intended short letter.

Many PAS leaders fail to qualify not only as ulamas , but even as normal mukmins if we were to go by standards set by great and respected ulam a and sufi masters of the past.

Yet all they are concerned about is political power and they would resort to all manner of deceit and manoeuvring to achieve it. Many hadiths who stressed fighting one's own ego and correcting oneself before correcting others are conveniently chucked out of its countless ceramahs .
