With reference Jamma's Separation of state, religion against Islam , I would like to ask that she show the exact verse that refers to it specifically.

I have read the Quran and even the Hadis and I have yet to come against any specific verse that says that separation of state power and religion is forbidden in Islam. It is summary and simplistic to say that separation of state power and religion is not Islamic or against Islam.

Certainly, it would be difficult to practise many things in the Quran and Syariah Law without state power but to say a country cannot be the embodiment of the spirit of Quran without state power is to actually insult the holy book.

Its all depends on how you interpret it. Our nations' patriotic founders thought through this issue much better than the opportunistic politicians of today. They know that it is actually a higher calling of Islam to live the Islamic way in a secular country.
