I don't think I can blame the writers of the Ethnic Relations textbook as they had obtained information from books that were already biased. They did not have the analytical skills nor the information to analyse the incidences. There is no truth available about the May 13, 1969 incident as it was never investigated thoroughly by a truth commission or by a royal commission.

South Africa initiated a truth commission to investigate the apartheid killings and atrocities in that country so that their history books would be able to tell the unbiased truth to the people of the country.

Cambodia had a truth commission to investigate the atrocities of the Pol Pot regime so their generations to come will understand the struggles of that nation. When are we going to have a truth commission for May13, 1969 and for the Kampung Medan killings?

Learning about the truth is difficult but it must be done now, so that the pain of those nameless innocent people who had died is not repeated. It is not about the fight for any race but about the power of a few who trample on the many to gain their brute power.
