LETTER | Two thumbs up for vaccination process at PWTC!

LETTER | For weeks we have been hearing of the experience of friends and family members who received the first of their Covid-19 jabs.

Of course, there was and is a lot of anxiety about the efficacy of the different types of vaccines available and the risks associated with each of them.

The general opinion of everyone I know who received their jabs whether it was at Sunway Parade, Universiti Hospital, University Kebangsaan Malaysia, PWTC or at any of the hospitals or health centres throughout the country was positive.

All praised the efficiency of the exercise and the politeness, kindness and generosity of the doctors, nurses, police and Rela personnel and many others helping out.

My wife and I went for our jabs this morning. Our venue was the PWTC. Our time was 10 am. We arrived a little early. As senior citizens, we were ushered through a lane for "Station 3".

As we went through the various stages finally ending with a consultation with a doctor and then receiving the vaccination, we could not help but appreciate the courtesy with which we and everyone else was treated.

Everyone was moved along with brisk efficiency.

After the jab, we were seated in the observation room for 15 minutes after which we were asked whether we were all right. And after receiving some instructions as to when we would receive our second jab, we were allowed to leave for home.

What we experienced was Malaysians at their very best. My wife and I could not say thank you often enough. We saw and experienced what many of our friends and family members saw and experienced.

This kind of experience coming in the middle of the worst pandemic in recent times should give us pause to reflect.

That even when we sometimes rail and rant when some things go wrong in our country, we should never lose sight of the many people who serve the nation and who look after us with so much courtesy, kindness and cheerfulness.

Thank you, all of you frontliners! Thank you very, very much.
