I would like to ask the PPP and Dr Koh Tsu Koon the same question: Haven't you been humiliated enough?

In Malacca, the PPP was given a slap by the chief minister when he refused to allocate more seats to the party at the state and parliamentary level. The Umno vice-president had then told off the PPP, saying it could leave the Barisan Nasional coalition as it would not affect it during the general election.

The PPP, once revered in Ipoh where the Seenivasagam brothers held court, was also in its heyday a brave, outspoken component of the BN. It is now a mere shadow of its former self. What a fall from grace and honour the party has suffered.

Owing to its weakening strength, it had no choice but to shamefully tolerate the tight slap it received from Umno.

And now that it has received another slap, this time a tighter one from the prime minister, what should the PPP do? Kiss the hand that slapped it? "Quit if you do not agree with the ISA policy!" thundered the usually mild-mannered PM.

So, what is the PPP waiting for? Another slap?

Then, we had the unpleasant scenario in Penang. Koh, as acting president of Gerakan, received a slap from a minor Umno leader who brazenly told him off. Then some Umno members took down Koh’s photograph during a meeting, tore it up and stomped on it! That was a resounding second slap!

So, what is Koh doing about the indignity of being publicly chastised and humiliated? Is he waiting for a another slap? Does he not have any iota of dignity left? No trace of honour? Why is he staying put in BN ?

Leave, Koh, for the sake of your own honour and also the dignity and integrity of Gerakan. Lest you think I am suggesting that you join the opposition, let me assure you I am not. Be independent, if you so desire.

The same principle apples to the parties in Sabah and Sarawak. If you feel that you have been bullied and marginalised, do something about it. Do what is good for yourselves as human beings and also for your people. They deserve your help.

Take note of Barack Obama who said "Change or be changed!" May I add, "Reform or be deformed!"

PPP is a good example of a party that has been on a long downward spiral since the hey days following its inception. Gerakan is another example of such a party.

Everybody is going to die one day. Stand tall and move forward. Human dignity and honour are values to be cherished, not trampled on.
