Tan Sri Musa Hitam is doing a fine job and he should carry on as the chairperson of Suhakam. It's too bad that some people don't understand the real meaning of "human rights" and want him to resign for his opinion as a former deputy prime minister, that human rights and democracy should take a ''back seat'' in the face of possible terrorist activities in Malaysia.

To these critics, "human rights" means the freedom to go against the rule of law which protects the rights of the majority, such as the freedom to demonstrate in the streets, damaging private properties, telling lies, etc.

They are expecting the chairperson of Suhakam to support all their illegal activities and to go against government, which is ridiculous. There are many political parties which can do those things and they shouldn't expect Suhakam to do that.

I believe Suhakam is there for civilised humans who believe in and practise rule of law.

Again, I urge Tan Sri Musa to continue to lead Suhakam.
