The member of Parliament for Kulim-Bandar Baru, Zulkifli Noordin, is questioning the motive of the disciplinary board of PKR in fixing the date of his hearing before it for this Thursday although he would be in Korea to attend a leadership conference.

He feels that the selection of the date had a malicious agenda to sabotage him.

"I wonder why they choose that date when they know that I and 12 other members of Parliament from the opposition pact as well as from BN will be in Korea to attend the conference beginning tomorrow until Feb 25," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.

NONE Zulkifli ( right) said he was curious why the 'show-cause' letter - which he received today - had maintained that date although he had earlier informed the PKR about the date of his overseas trip.

"I don't want them to make a statement that I did not attend (the hearing) and so on, whereas they were the ones who arranged the programme. That's why I called for this press conference...they should not go ahead with the proceedings on Thursday when I will be in Korea," he said.

He urged the PKR disciplinary board to fix the date as he had suggested, which was Feb 28 or between March 1 and 5, and ensure that the charge against him was clear and the proceedings handled by those with integrity.

The disciplinary board had issued a show-cause letter and directed Zulkilfi to attend their meeting on Feb 18 with an alternative date on Feb 23 to hear the mention of his case pertaining to his police report against the Shah Alam member of Parliament, Khalid Samad, from PAS last month.

‘What about Zaid and Wee?’

In another development, Zulkifli slammed the disciplinary board for issuing show-cause letters only to him, Bayan Baru member of Parliament Zahrain Mohamed Hashim, and member of Parliament for Nibong Tebal, Tan Tee Beng.

vk lingam hearing wee choo keong pc thirunama 180108 stern On the other hand, he said, no such letters were issued to the member of Parliament for Wangsa Maju, Wee Choo Keong ( left ), and a member of PKR’s Political Bureau and supreme council Zaid Ibrahim.

This although - he claimed - PKR advisor Anwar Ibrahim and Secretary-General Saifuddin Nasution had announced that the duo would also be called up by the disciplinary board.

Zulkifli said the statements urging his expulsion made by the top leaders of the party such as Vice-president Azmin Ali, Director of Strategy Tian Chua and Zaid had clearly penalised him before the proceedings have began.
