Bukit Bendera Umno Youth information chief Rose Akmar Ahmed will be lodging a police report over the division annual general meeting (AGM) as he had not received the official notice calling for one.

The division's AGM scheduled for Sunday had been earlier postponed twice without any explanation.

NONE Rose Akmar ( right) told Malaysiakini that he plans to file the police report the day the AGM is held as it contravenes the party's constitution.

"The ROS (registrar of societies) can investigate why it is not legitimate because it doesn't abide by the constitution," he said.

Such a notice should rightly be delivered at least 14 days prior to the event, he pointed out.

The validity of the AGM can be questioned if held as scheduled, he said, adding that he also never received the notices for the previous meetings slotted for July 11 and 31, and later postponed.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, the division's former chief Ahmad Ismail, ( below ) said that the meeting   will go on as planned on Aug 8, in a Bayan Baru hotel.

Suspects foul play

In March the division's 36 committee members had all resigned to pave way for the divisional elections to allow Ahmad to re-contest.

However, Ahmad had said that he will not be vying for the division chief position, saying that logistical problems had forced the postponement of the AGM.

Rose Akmar, who is also the Kampung Mutiara protem committee chairperson, was among the four representatives who had lodged police reports on July 9 on not receiving the notice.

He suspects that the reason for the lapse had "something" to do with the police report he had lodged before.

However, Rose Akmar was unsure whether other delegates had faced the same problem.
