The final weekend of the controversial PKR direct election did not yield any surprise with Azmin Ali crowned as the new deputy president.

According to unofficial results obtained by Malaysiakini , Azmin has a total tally of 19,212 votes against rival Mustaffa Kamil Ayub’s 4,567.

The results are from 214 out of 222 PKR divisions which have completed their voting for the national leadership.

Meanwhile, there is no change in the position of top four contenders for the vice-presidents' posts, with Nurul Izzah Anwar, Tian Chua, Fuziah Salleh and Mansor Othman all duly elected.

However, Dr Xavier Jayakumar overtook  N Gobalakrishnan for the fifth spot in the vice-presidential race.

Before last weekend, Gobalakrishnan had been leading Xavier by 448 votes.

In any case, neither won any of the four elected posts available.

4) Mansor Othman - 8,477

5) Dr Xavier Jayakumar - 6,984

6) N Gobalakrishnan - 6,721

For the 20 central leadership council posts, PKR Wanita information chief Elizabeth Wong is leading the pack, while others close behind are incumbents Selangor menteri besar office's information director Badrul Amin Baharon and Khalid Jaafar, Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian and Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul.

For the Wanita wing, the incumbent chief Zuraida Kamaruddin is set to retain her post, edging her challengers Dr Suraya Sudin and Animah Ferrar.

Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin has managed to retain his position with a 1,020 vote majority against challenger Badrul Hisham Shaharin, popularly known as Chegu Bard.
