Perak state assembly speaker R Ganesan clashed with Pakatan lawmakers in today's sitting.

They were unhappy that only only seven of 31 oral questions were answered, out of which only two were from Pakatan.

The questions were from Lubuk Merbau assemblyperson Mohd Zainuddin Mohd Yusof and Jalong assemblyperson Leong Mee Meng.

According to Pasir Pinji Thomas Su Keong Siong ( left ), this refusal by Ganesan was the factor that triggered the suspension of PKR S Kesavan from the rest of the assembly sitting.

Kesavan had demanded that his oral question listed at number 23 pertaining to land matters in his constituency, be answered by Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir or by any official.

After Ganesan stated that the one hour time allocated for oral questions was over, Kesavan suggested that he be given a written reply.

This request was also turned down and instead he was slapped with a one-day suspension.

This further resulted in the BN's faction calling for Kesavan's suspension for the rest of the present assembly sitting.

A vote count was taken and Kesavan was booted out.

r ganesan 130509 Sungkai lawmaker A Sivanesan then requested his oral question listed at 27 to be given a written answer but Ganesan ( left ) also turned down this down, and told the DAP leader to raise it in the budget debate in tomorrow's sitting.

However, Sivanesan's argued that as his question was not answered today, the possibility was that he might not get the answer tomorrow.

"Let us do our job in servicing the people who elected us," said an angry Sivanesan.

Another sore point that the Sungai lawmaker raised was the alleged tactic of Ganesan in switching off the Pakatan assemblypersons' microphones whenever he pleased.

"The voice of the democratic process in the Perak state assembly sitting must not be silenced according to the whims and fancies of Ganesan, "the DAP state vice-leader protested.

The state assembly's debate on the 2011 state budget was postponed to tomorrow's sitting at 10am.
