Sacked Selangor PAS commissioner Hasan Ali today called on both the PAS youth and ulama wings to mobilise themselves and purge the 'parasites' from the party, while he operates from the outside.

"I hope for the sake of Allah and with the fighting spirit left behind by Prophet Muhammad, the ulama and youth in PAS will move from the inside while I, who have been sacked, move on the outside so that in the near future PAS will be freed from the grip of the 'parasites' who are now kings," he said.

At a press conference at his Kuala Lumpur residence, Hasan claimed that the two groups were aware that the party is straying from its original path.

"I leave it up to the youth and ulama to decide (on what to do) - it is clear that the PAS struggle has strayed and it must return to its original path.

"For me, if I was still on the inside, my hands and feet would be tied, my mouth shut but now that I'm on the outside, I can speak freely and engage the people."

He added that out of the thousands who have flocked to his roadshow, at least 20 to 30 percent will in some way embrace the struggle.

The party parasites, he said, are those who have led PAS away from its initial struggle, leading to an accommodation with its Pakatan Rakyat allies, PKR and DAP.

"Parasites are also those who influence the party president and the top leadership because of their large majority, and they label any action that goes against their wishes as Umno's agenda.”

Ulama the last bulwark

Hasan also dismissed Selangor PAS deputy commissioner Khalid Samad's claim that the former was instead the real parasite.

"I have never been a parasite, I have never taken PAS off its tracks or its aspirations to build a country based on Islamic principles, I have never fraternised the DAP, and I have never fraternitised with the 'Pakatan Rakyat's supremo'.

"They want to bring Pakatan to Putrajaya but what form of government do they want to create? With their blurred vision and problems plaguing some of their leaders, I don't know where they want to led Pakatan to."

Asked if Khalid was one of the 'parasites' he was referring to, he replied: "If he fits the description according to all the definitions I have given, then maybe he is one of those."

He adds that the parasite are using their sheer numbers in the leadership to steer the party off course and the minority ulamas represent the last bulwark against them.

His efforts, said Hasan, would hopefully lead to a change in PAS over the coming months.

"The party's muktamar happens twice a year. I want to see a new development in PAS where these parasites are purged and the ulamas strengthened," he said.

Meanwhile, Hasan said the Unit Selamatkan Akidah (Save Faith Unit), which he formed while serving as Selangor exco in charge of Islamic affairs, will no longer be part of the state government.

"It does not belong to the state government, it belongs to the people... It used to operate out of the state secretariat in Shah Alam, now it will operate out of Taman Tun Dr Ismail," he said in reference to his residence.
