A senior person from the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) is expected to be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today, according to a source.
Said the source, one of the charges involves a huge sum of money, and the case is presently being registered at the criminal court registry.
The individual is expected to be brought to court in the afternoon.
NFC has been dogged with allegations of abuse in the use of a RM250 million government soft loan, meant to develop a steady supply of cattle to make the country self-sufficient in beef.
The opposition had alleged, amongst others, that the loan had instead been used as as leverage to purchase properties in Bangsar, Putrajaya and Singapore.
The directors involved in the scandal are family members of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil; her husband Mohamad Salleh Ismail is NFC chairperson.
Yesterday Shahrizat, after intense pressure over the scandal, finally announced her resignation effective April 8, a day before her Dewan Negara term expires.
