Kelantan Umno wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to carry out immediate probe into the allegation that Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat had offered a piece of land to Perak DAP leaders to enable PAS elected representative to be appointed as Perak Menteri Besar after the 2008 general election.
Its chairman, Mustapa Mohamed, said the probe was vital to enable the people, especially in Kelantan, to know the truth.
"We have learnt that several police reports have been made concerning the allegation and that it has garnered strong public interest.
"The people across the country, especially in Kelantan, want to know whether the allegation is true or just a lie. This matter needs an accurate explanation," he told reporters here today.
The issue surfaced when a blog, pisau.net, posted a report alleging that Nik Aziz had offered a piece of land in Relai, Chiku, Gua Musang, measuring 4,259.9 hectares, to Perak DAP chairperson Ngeh Koo Ham and secretary Nga Kor Ming to accept Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin as Perak MB in 2008.
