NONE In a close race for the PAS Youth leadership former Johor PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat came up victorious today.

He clinched 320 votes to his biggest rival, Federal Territory PAS Youth chief Kamaruzzaman Mohamad's 307.

The third candidate in the three-cornered fight for the chief's post Zulhazmi Sharif garnered only 7 votes.

Zulhazmi is the legal advisor for the PAS-led anti-postal traffic summons movement Kase.

The new deputy chief is Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, who won with 355 votes defeating incumbent youth vice chief Raja Ahmad Iskandar Yaacob who raked in 252 votes.

Khairil Nizam Khiruddin took the vice presidency with 411 votes, defeating Zamri Ahmad Zamri Asa'ad Khuzaimi who got 236.

The newly elected committee members are:

  • Nurul Islam Mohd Yusof (355 votes)
  • Mohd Sany Hamzan (340 votes)

The results were announced at about 9.45pm today at the PAS Youth Muktamar at the MBPJ Civic Hall in Petaling Jaya.

638 of the 639 registered delegates voted over a period of about five hours.

There were four spoilt votes in the youth chief ballot, and one spoilt votes each for the deputy and vice chief ballots.

There were 13 spoilt votes for the committee member ballots.

Suhaizan succeeds Temerloh MP Nasruddin Hassan, who was Youth chief for two terms.

Muhammad Khalil, who is also the son of party Abdul Hadi Awang, succeeds Pasir Mas MP Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, who is son of PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
