Police have questioned the families of crew members onboard missing Malaysia Airline's flight MH370 to find clues which may have led to the plane's disappearance on March 8.

"Police are looking for any information which could assist with the search. It is to assist investigations, not to take action (against the family members)," Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

Asked if this is to find leads on possible sabotage, he said this is one of the angles police are looking at.

“It is part of the four angles mentioned by the inspector-general of police,” he said.

IGP Khalid Abu Bakar had said police are probing possible hijacking, sabotage, psychological problems of passengers and crew and personal problems of passengers and crew.

Ahmad Zahid’s statement comes as Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Hadi Ho Abdullah denied a Harian Metro report where he was quoted as saying the passenger and crew’s homes were searched.

Hadi also denied that he told the daily that one passenger is of Uighur ethnicity.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid urged all on social media to “sympathise with the family of the crew and passengers” and not spreading information which could “cause further confusion”.

“We want to find a solution, not confuse things further...

“We may have differing views but let us unite on the issue of MH370.

“I know my statements and those of other leaders have been twisted and I urge all not to do so,” he said.
