MB: Criticism of Umno stems from Pakatan's fear
It is fear that motivates Pakatan Rakyat leaders to criticise the Umno general assembly as being racist and so forth, said Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob.
It is fear that motivates Pakatan Rakyat leaders to criticise the Umno general assembly as being racist and so forth, said Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob.
According to him, the opposition becomes terrified when it sees this mammoth Malay gathering.
"We have to view their criticism from various angles. One of them is their fear and nervousness. Umno has made a huge impact.
"They are afraid because the opposition knows this (Umno assembly) is where ideas are born and can eventually become government policies," he told Umno Online .
However, Adnan, who is an Umno supreme council member, said the opposition would not admit this.
He said the opposition would constantly attempt to cast Umno in a negative light and tarnish the party's image.
"This is why they belittle the Umno assembly.
"But the fact is, in their hearts, opposition leaders know the Umno assembly will have a huge impact on the Malays and government policies," he added.
Therefore, Adnan called on Umno members to possess the attitude that their party is for all Malaysians.
"Although Umno is a Malay and bumiputera party, the party's struggle is for all races. So the accusation that Umno is racist is baseless.
"What is important is that we do not fall for the opposition's ploy," he said.
