The video clip on the brutality of militant group, IS, in the Middle East, sent shivers down everyone's spine when it was shown at the last day of Umno General Assembly 2014 at the Putra World Trade Centre today.

The video clip, which lasted two minutes and 15 seconds, was shown during the winding-up speech by Umno vice-president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also home minister.

The clip clearly showed a group of IS members dragging several individuals and forcing them to get down on their knees, while holding knives that were believed to be used to slaughter the victims.

"This kind of act should not happen among the world community. Don't let ourselves be influenced by this deviant act which clearly contravened the teachings of Islam," he said.

Ahmad Zahid also condemned the involvement of certain people in this country in the militant group.

"Look at what they've done. Is this act or this fight permissible in Islam? Look at it and judge for yourselves," he said.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who is also Umno president, recently tweeted that the IS brutality violated the teachings of Islam and the principles of Islamic law.

He also said that Malaysia condemned in the strongest terms the barbarism committed by the IS against Peter Kassig and the Syrian military personnel.
