Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has described the opposition as the "mother of all corruption" in relation to the case involving Foreign Minister Anifah Aman being allegedly offered RM100 million by Anwar Ibrahim to defect.

The Umno president said he checked with his lawyers and was told that raising this matter was not subjudice, what more when Anifah had been cross-examined.

"They (the opposition) are the mother of all corruption.

"We are accused of all sorts of things (by the opposition)," he said in his winding-up speech.

"Don’t think we are bad, the opposition is even worse," he added, while showing delegates a copy of Utusan Malaysi a which reported on the ongoing case.

Anwar is suing Anifah ( left ) over the claim that he had offered the latter RM100 million and the deputy prime minister’s post should he and other BN MPs jump ship in 2008.

Najib also mocked Anwar for a failed attempt at installing his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also PKR president, as Selangor menteri besar.

"Imagine if I ask the Negeri Sembilan menteri besar to resign for my wife (Rosmah Mansor) to become menteri besar, I would be (politically) dead.

"She (Rosmah) doesn't even want to be a divisional Umno Wanita chief," he said, describing Anwar's attempt as the "biggest form of nepotism".

"But why do people not blame him? Don't just attack us, attack the opposition," he said.

Opposition leaders get off easy

Najib, echoing a party delegate, lamented that opposition members often get off easy from scandals.

"The opposition supporters defend their leaders all out, even if they are wrong.

"Even when their large underpants is exposed, they still get off.... If it was Ku Nan's (Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor) large underpants, he would not have been let off," he said.

Najib did not name names but appeared to be referring to a sex video purportedly of a senior PAS leader.

The premier also made reference to another sex video allegedly involving Anwar, which the opposition leader has denied being featured in.

"When the video came out, all he needed to say was that it wasn't him, that he didn't have a pot belly, and he just got off, how simple," said Najib without naming Anwar.

As such, Najib urged Umno members to protect their leaders.

"If we want our party to be strong, then take care of our leaders.

"Criticise them in a good way, only then we can move forward. We are all humans, no one is perfect," he said.

Najib lamented that some Umno bloggers have been training guns at their own leaders.

"Our bloggers shoot us. In warfare, it is called friendly fire but I tell you this friendly fire is not friendly.

"Where are these bloggers getting their rice bowl from? Shoot at the opposition, only then we can win the war," he said.
