The police have recorded statements from three BFM employees involved in the production of the controversial video on hudud.

The police team arrived at 10am, followed by officers from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

"They are being investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code and also Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act," said the radio station in a statement.

Section 298 of Penal Code concerns uttering words with deliberate intent to hurt the religious feelings of any person. A person convicted of this offence may face a maximum one-year jail term, fine or both.

Meanwhile, Section 233 of the MCMC Act relates to improper use of network facilities or services, where a convicted person may face a maximum fine of RM50,000 or one year's jail.

"The management of BFM Media Sdn Bhd fully supports our employees in the execution of their duties.

"The radio station stands by them and remains committed to providing all support they require at this difficult time," said BFM.

Saying they are open to criticism and investigations by the relevant authorities, the radio station, however, condemned the threats to its staff.

"The management of BFM media would be lodging a police report against all those who have threatened the safety and security of the station and its staff," read the statement.

BFM also thanked friends, listeners and media alike who supported their presenter Aisyah Tajuddin and BFM Media

Previously, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said the police are probing the threats as well as Aisyah and those who penned the script for the video.

Aisyah's father, former Universiti Teknologi Malaysia lecturer Mohamad Tajuddin Mohamad Rasdi, had come-out in support of his daughter and condemned the threats against her.

Aisyah, who received rape and death threats, has since apologised and clarified that it was not her intention to insult Islam.
