Organisers of a forum on the 26th anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre has defied Putrajaya's ban against its Hong Kong's teenaged activist Joshua Wong by flying in a replacement.

Wong Ji-yuet ( photo ) arrived from Hong Kong at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) at 3.35pm today.

Ji-yuet, 18, is among the key figures of Hong Kong student activist group Scholarism who led the "Umbrella revolution" protest in Hong Kong last year against Beijing's rules for the Legislative Council election next year.

She was carrying an IKEA Lufsig wolf doll, which became a symbol of Hong Kong's pro-democracy movement after the doll was thrown at Hong Kong chief executive CY Leung in 2013.

On Tuesday, the Malaysian immigration deported Wong within an hour of landing at Penang International Airport on Tuesday.

Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said the deportation was due to a matter of national security .

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar had also justified the deportation, stating that it was to protect Putrajaya's relation with Beijing.

Joshua was scheduled to speak in a series of talks this week on democracy and student activism.

He was featured on the cover of Time magazine as the face of Hong Kong's uprising against China to demand for universal suffrage and proper elections.

Organisers of the talks featuring Joshua had vowed to press on with the programmes despite the deportation but did not reveal his replacement until today for fear that Ji-yuet may also be deported.

Ji-yuet is expected to speak at an event in Skudai, Johor tonight and at Petaling Jaya tomorrow night.
