Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali said Pakatan Rakyat parties should be united in ensuring the people's trust in the next election.
Declining to comment on state PAS commissioner Iskandar Samad's statement that Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) will only serve to benefit BN, Azmin gave the Islamic party a vote of confidence that it would be able to settle its problems.
"I don't want to meddle in PAS' internal affairs. I believe the leadership can solve the problems so that the people will be confident that Pakatan would bring change in the14th general election," he told reporters at the state open house in Shah Alam today.
GHB was formed by several members of PAS progressive factions who were purged after the party's last muktamar.
Iskandar ( photo ) had said in a statement yesterday that said GHB's focus right now is to consolidate its position among PAS members instead of targeting Umno and BN.
"The opposition stands to benefit if this development can attract BN voters, but will this happen?
"I am not confident of this as the new movement by the defeated PAS leaders appears to only focus on PAS members," he had reflected.
Meanwhile Azmin also insisted that PKR is yet to make a stand on GBH, despite party secretary general Rafizi Ramli declaring support for the movement last week.
He said it would be discussed at the party’s central leadership council meeting, which according to schedule is next Thursday.
