Domestic Trade, Consumerism and Cooperatives Minister Hamzah Zainuddin was caught on camera bandaging a Malaysiakini journalist who sustained light injuries on his arm after falling off his motorbike.
In a video uploaded by Kwong Wah daily, Hamzah tells the journalist, Adrian Wong, that this is a day he will remember.
"You will always remember me after this, that I am your friend. I don't talk bad about you, but I talk bad about Malaysiakini ," the minister quipped.
Wong told Malaysiakini that he fell off his motorcycle at a roundabout in Shah Alam, while chasing Hamzah from one location to another.
The fall did not break his spirit and the journalist continued to make his way to the market Hamzah was inspecting to ask more questions.
The minister however refused to entertain him at first.
"So I told him 'Aiya, I fell off my bike chasing you, please let me ask a few questions'. After that he asked what happened to me and started to look at my wound," Wong ( photo ) said
He then continued to ask Hamzah questions while the minister was fussing over him.
Wong wanted to know whether Hamzah had spotted any fake goods in Petaling Street, but did not get a proper answer.
This was in relation to Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos' warnings that there would be a riot in Petaling Street because Malays are unhappy with fake goods being sold there, among other reasons.
After putting a bandage on Wong's elbow, the journalist and minister shook hands before parting ways.
"I'm grateful to the minister. But I wish he would focus on my questions instead of my injuries," Wong said.
