MCA Youth still wants an apology from deputy minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, for threatening to "slap" ethnic Chinese Malaysians, even though the matter has been brought to BN for discussion.

MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon was responding to BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor who said the issue will be resolved through BN internal mechanisms.

Tajuddin last week said ethnic Chinese should be slapped if they run to China with grouses over domestic affairs.

"Bringing it to BN doesn't mean leaving it unsettled.

"Bringing it to BN is to ask him to retract (the statement) and apologise," insisted Chong, who is also deputy education minister, after visiting a SJK(C) in Klang, Selangor.

Tengku Adnan ( photo ) earlier told MCA and Gerakan to stop criticising Tajuddin, saying the matter would be solved within BN.

He also said Tajuddin was misled by social media , and need not apologise.

Earlier, in dismissing Chong's demand for an apology, Tajuddin said instead, Chong should come to him and apologise for demanding that he apologise.

Chong said Tajuddin ( photo ) has not contacted him but is not sure if the Pasir Salak MP had approached MCA.

"This is nothing personal. (To apologise) is just the right thing to do, do not drag in communal or racial issues," he added.

According to Oriental Daily , Gerakan warned that it would make police reports nationwide if Tajuddin does not apologise.

Chong welcomed the move but said MCA Youth did not want to waste time on Tajuddin.

Quizzed what would be MCA youth's next action if Tajuddin declines to apologise, Chong repeated: "We do not want to waste too much time on this person," and left the press conference.
