It's no surprise for Umno Youth executive committee member Armand Azha Abu Hanifah that former Umno supreme council member Saifuddin Abdullah has joined PKR.

Armand said Saifuddin, like many other former Umno leaders, was like as a thorn in the flesh for the party.

"It was nothing surprising when Saifuddin Abdullah announced he is joining PKR. This thing was already long known in Umno."

In a Facebook posting today, Armand "congratulated" PKR for accepting Saifuddin, adding that the former deputy minister has been deemed to be a thorn in the flesh for Umno.

"Hopefully these viruses in the party that are becoming thorns will continue to be accepted by PKR of the Harapan Baru gang."

While the opposition accepts these former Umno leaders, Armand said, Umno will continue with it's cleansing and revitalising process.

Saifuddin told a press conference earlier today that he defected to opposition party PKR because of the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion scandals.

Asked why he picked PKR, Saifuddin said his heart steered him in the direction of that party.
