PARLIAMENT | Opposition lawmakers once again raised the ‘Mana RM2.6 bilion?’ (Where is the RM2.6 billion?) placards when DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng debated the 2016 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat.

The placards were brandished when the opposition leader touched on 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion deposited into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s personal bank accounts.

The sum has been described as political donation from a Middle Eastern source and the prime minister has denied using public funds for personal gain.

The placards were first raised when Najib ( photo ) concluded tabling the budget last Friday, with government leaders describing the act as “childish” and reminding the opposition not to turn Parliament into a circus.

Anthony Loke (DAP-Seremban), Abdul Khalid Samad (Amanah-Shah Alam) and Johari Abdul (PKR-Sungai Petani) were among the lawmakers spotted raising the placards today.

"The problem of 1MDB scandal and RM2.6 billion donation has eroded the investor confidence," said Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general.

Instead of avoiding them, the questions needed to be answered in the House, he stressed.
