Lawyer Mohd Hafarizam Harun said he has yet to meet Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on whether to file a suit against former MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik.

Hafarizam was supposed to fix an appointment with the Umno president yesterday.

“Wait within one or two days time (either today or tomorrow), maybe I will get to see Najib,” he said in a text message last night.

Today, when asked whether he managed to meet the premier and that Ling has been questioning why it was taking so long for Najib to file a suit, Hafarizam has yet to get back to Malaysiakini with answers.

Ling had said he was surprised why Najib was dragging his feet in filing a lawsuit against him

"I am still waiting. I'm a patient man. Don't rush, wait for it," Ling was quoted as saying by The Star Online .

“I am very surprised why is it taking so long,” he added.

Ling, who had called on Najib to resign, courted a legal letter on Oct 3 for accusing the prime minister of taking public funds.

The former transport minister said he stood by the statement and would not apologise, and it would be up to Najib to sue.
