Without mincing words, Zaid Ibrahim has claimed that Malays have become a "huge disappointment".
Venting his frustration on Twitter, the former law minister lamented the lack of answers on the RM2.6 billion transferred into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal accounts.
The sum has been described as political donation from an unidentified Middle Eastern source, but critics continue to zero in on the issue.
"Key ministers, PAC (Public Accounts Committee) chief, MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) chief, they are all Malays.
"That's why until today we do not know who donated the billions to PM," said Zaid.

The former Umno lawmaker's comments come hot on the heels of PAC chief Hasan Arifin saying that the RM2.6 billion is not related to 1MDB.
Hasan also said there is no need to call in Najib to facilitate the committee's probe into 1MDB, and when pressed on the reasons, replied in jest: "Jangan la, saya pun nak cari makan jugak (Please don't, I need to earn a living too)."
Meanwhile, Zaid claimed that the individuals in key positions are Malays with titles and wealth.
"So they are easily afraid. They are afraid even to ask most basic questions about the donation.
"I suggest we start appointing Chinese, Dayaks and Kadazans to these important positions," he added.
The MACC has also confirmed that the RM2.6 billion, transferred ahead of the 2013 general election, was political donation, but is still investigating the matter.
Apart from this, the commission is also probing the RM42 million transferred from the Finance Ministry-owned SRC International into Najib's accounts late last year and early this year.
The prime minister, who is also finance minister, has denied using public funds for personal gains and accused his detractors, including former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, of conspiring to oust him.
