All awaiting AG's decision on 'open-and-shut' SRC case

YOURSAY | ‘By handing the investigation papers to AG, it is as good as feeding them into a shredder.’

MACC hands SRC, RM2.6b investigation papers to AG

Res Ipsa: Frankly Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), we find it very difficult to understand your actions.

You mentioned earlier that your investigations were on the RM42 million from SRC International which found its way into the personal accounts of the PM.

It’s great that you have completed your lengthy investigations, referred it to an independent panel and then made recommendations to the attorney-general (AG).

For the general public, this is an open-and-shut case and we are waiting to see the response from AG Mohamed Apandi Ali.

Now, coming to the RM2.6 billion, didn’t you confirm that the said monies were a ‘ donation ’ from the Arabs?

Your confirmation that the monies were not sourced from 1MDB has been used countless times by Umno politicians and cyber troopers to defend their numero uno.

So what exactly are you investigating? The identity of the donor or donors?

We are extremely perplexed and would be grateful if you could clarify once and for all the exact nature of your investigations into this matter.

Anonymous_1371508752: Any lesser mortal with even the slightest hint of corruption would be hauled up and the books thrown at him, but not when a puppet master is involved.

Mushiro: Indeed, it is a waste of time sending the two investigation papers to the AG. The AG was appointed by PM Najib Razak just six months ago after Abdul Gani Patail was sacked by him.

It is clearly a conflict of interest for Apandi to decide on Najib's case. The wrapping up of the 1MDB investigations by MACC, coinciding with Najib's statement that the winter for 1MDB is over , shows an attempt to end the orchestra conducted by Najib.

Najib must be desperate to believe that it is that simple to close the 1MDB case.

Justine Gow: Quite a few things happened on the last day of 2015. It looks like someone is planning to sweep everything under the rug.

FellowMalaysian: After nearly five months of nerve-wrecking investigations and coming under the intense focus and scrutiny of people from all the corners of the nation, it is thoroughly disappointing for MACC to tell us that the investigation for the RM2.6 billion donation probe is still not complete and requires more time.

Whatever MLAs (mutual legal assistances) you may need from foreign banks and financial institutions should have been requested a long time ago. This clearly shows an irresponsible conduct which requires immediate reprimand.

Donplaypuks: If the MACC has reasonable grounds to believe corruption took place, they do not need anyone's permission to seize documents and files - not Bank Negara or the AG.

They do not need to worry about Bafia (Banking and Financial Institutions Act) if there is evidence of corruption, fraud, misappropriation of state/GLC (government-linked company) money, CBT (criminal breach of trust), money-laundering, vote influencing/buying and election rigging.

After all, Najib did benefit by getting re-elected, didn't he? They just have to move their butts and issue the summons.

Magic Dragon: This submission of an incomplete finding is like removing the 'embryo' from the egg.

MACC, we do not blame you for taking so long to come out with half-baked investigations - to find ways to deceive will undoubtedly take a much longer time than just stating the truth.

Anonymous #7856234569: When you hand the investigation papers to AG, it is as good as feeding them into a shredder.

Rafizi: National assets pawned to save 1MDB

Dingy: By acquiring more assets from Malaysia, China will have more control over Southeast Asia, thanks to Najib's desperate need for money to resolve 1MDB debacle.

So what do the Malays say about China acquiring more assets in ‘Tanah Melayu’? They are not happy with Chinese Malaysians controlling the economy, but they don't mind when mainland Chinese take control?

Don't blame the local Chinese, blame Najib.

Joe Lee: In the old days, Chinese pawn shops enjoyed very good business with their ‘Melayu’ clients. It now looks like the whole of ‘Melayu’ land is going to be pawned over to pork-eating, non-halal communist China.

We will become a colony, just like the yuan is legal tender in Zimbabwe now. Soon we will be loving paper notes with the pictures of Mao Zedong on them.

So who are the real ‘si-bodohs’ causing this state of affairs?

Rick Teo: Yes, Malaysia will become the colony of China and the Chinese here will eventually become the bumiputeras of this land. What a reversal. God is great.
