The 1MDB affair could serve as an important test of how the world deals with cross-border corruption, said The Economist , claiming that investigations within Malaysia have been “timid or stymied” and therefore leaving “other countries to make the running”.
Meanwhile, a former banker with the Singapore branch of Switzerland's BSI Bank has been charged with money laundering following the city state's investigation into 1MDB.
Guan Eng on Sarawak Immigration watchlist
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has been informed that he is on the Sarawak Immigration watchlist. Though he was allowed to enter the state last night, he can be asked to leave at any time by police.
With nomination day for the Sarawak election two days away, Pakatan Harapan coalition partners DAP and PKR have still not ironed out an agreement over four to five overlapping seats, though Azmin said that they are working hard on resolving the matter.
Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub told reporters in Kuching that the newly formed party will contest 13 seats, fielding two Christians and two women, in its election debut in Sarawak.
