Azmin: PKR, DAP still ironing out S'wak seat overlaps
Nomination day for the Sarawak election is a mere three days away, but the DAP and PKR have yet to come to an agreement over four to five overlapping seats.
However, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali hoped the matter would be resolved before nomination day.
"We are still in the process of negotiation with DAP and we hope that we will resolve this before nomination day," Azmin said.

However, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali hoped the matter would be resolved before nomination day.
“We are still negotiating with DAP and we hope that we will resolve this before nomination day.
“I really hope that we can conclude the negotiations as soon as possible,” Azmin told reporters at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) in Ampang last night.
Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian had previously rejected the consensus with regard to the disbursement of seats made at the national level among Pakatan Harapan component parties.
Baru had decided to remain with the earlier decision to contest 40 state seats in the Sarawak polls. He was also reported to have said the party’s headquarters was informed of this decision.
However, that arrangement would result in the overlapping seats between the two parties.
Verdict still out
Azmin, meanwhile, said the final outcome may not be announced during his visit to Sarawak today.
“Not necessarily. It depends on whether we can resolve it by tomorrow,” the Selangor menteri besar said.
Azmin, who is also the MP for Gombak, declined to reveal the number of seats that PKR is supposed to contest.
“We can't reveal the number yet as negotiations are still ongoing,” he said.
Sarawak DAP yesterday announced its finalised list of 29 candidates out of the overall 82 seats up for contest in the Sarawak election.
Its chief Chong Chieng Jen said he would continue to defend his Kota Sentosa seat.
Eight other incumbent DAP state assemblypersons will defend their seats: Wong King Wei (Padungan), Violet Yong (Pending), Chiew Wang See (Batu Kawa), Ting Tze Fui (Meradong), Yap Hoi Liong (Dudong), David Wong (Pelawan), Chiew Chiu Sing (Tanjung Batu) and Alan Ling (Piasau).
