Hadi: PAS ready to get booted from S'gor gov't over Sg Besar

Sans Blinkers: Whether you agree with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang or not, whether you respect him as a Malaysian political leader or not, you have to credit him for being firm and decisive with regard to the by-elections, whatever his real objective may be.

Contrast him to PKR and its deputy president Azmin Ali who has been reportedly pleading, threatening, dilly-dallying, etc, to get PAS to agree to his proposal. This smacks of insecurity, indecisiveness, confusion and a total lack of confidence in Pakatan Harapan's ability to win the confidence of the voters without the support of PAS members. Hadi can easily see through him, so why should Hadi give way?

Dont Just Talk: The leaders of Pakatan Harapan should just put PAS out of the equation and move forward without the party, as it is a thorn in its side.

PAS under its radical, recalcitrant spiritual leaders, can never be a reliable partner to anyone in particular. It is better to leave it alone and move towards the 14th GE without it, although it may come with the cost of three-cornered contests, with Umno Baru the winner.

Anonymous_1421406986: The way disunity is showing up within the opposition coalition. I believe that it has already disintegrated and we are going to witness multiple opposition political parties standing in all the constituencies at the next GE.

PAS may still survive and win seats. DAP may win some parliamentary seats and continue to hold on to the Penang government, but with a reduced number of seats without Malay support. But I might not want to say the same for PKR.

In the final analysis, the coalition will come to realise that the biggest culprit who contributed to the disintegration is DAP and not PAS. DAP is not only fighting for its own members but also for MCA. DAP sees itself as the defender and protector of the Chinese community.

Ksn: Azmin, what are you waiting for, now that your partner has challenged you?

Rick Teo: No ifs and buts, if PAS contests in Sungai Besar, just ask their excos to resign or face the sack. Don't flip flop on the decision. But why negotiate with PAS? Let it do what it wants. Pakatan Harapan should plan its strategy based on its own decisions. Let Amanah contest both seats.

1 Melayu 1 Bahasa 1 Malaysia: PKR must not play "kaki tiga" with PAS. PKR are really dreaming. Look at the just concluded Sarawak election, it was PKR who gave the votes to BN by being too greedy and challenging DAP in six seats.

PKR must be realistic and know its strength. Do not dream until GE14, and repeat the mistakes made in Sarawak. PKR must know that we in Sarawak put the whole blame on PKR and PAS for Sarawak's poor performance in the last election.

Shamu99: Kick them out if they challenge in Sungai Besar. Anyway, they are a liability. Put Amanah there.

Aziz Bin Kader: The sultan never elects the wakil rakyat. The MB has the right to select the exco. Why involve the sultan in politics.

RCZ: Here we go again. Making use of and invoking the royalty for its own ends. The sultan is being involved in these political games. Looks like Hadi and PAS cannot make it on its own.

Bloodymary: With Husam Musa out, PAS is now left with silly old hududists like Hadi. Might as well join forces with PPP, Gerakan, MIC and MCA.

Bluemountains: If PAS contests Sungai Besar and the PAS excos cannot be removed, Azmin will have to resign or dissolve the state assembly. Let's watch the fun.

Hamzah Paiman: Hadi is a troublemaker who is up to no good. His prime goal is to see his best friend's party (Umno) winning the by-elections and therefore he's causing disunity among the opposition. He is a religious opportunist.

People of Selangor: PAS equals Umno. PAS is going for Sungai Besar and PKR is confronting PAS and Umno in the by-election. PAS and PKR are in the Selangor government. So PAS and PKR are competing for the Parliament seat of Sungai Besar in Selangor. What is the logic of PAS fielding its candidate in Sungai Besar against PKR? Do you think the PKR MB will just sit there, waiting?

Maplesyrup: I'm afraid this is just rumours because I fear Azmin has no guts. If it is true however, I will be jumping for joy, not me only, but all right thinking Selangorians.

尔捷:: Don't worry, Hadi, Azmin will not push PAS away from the Selangor administration.

Kuasa Rakyat: PAS under Hadi has lost its religious fervour and has become an "Umno" division. What to do? Hadi has practically been Umno-ised since he in the first place did not have any integrity nor religious conviction, but only personal interest to play racial politics, Umno-style.

That's why it was easy for Najib to reel in Hadi. Reject Umno, Reject PAS. Hidup rakyat.

Spirit of Malaya: PAS was given a chance by the people due to their inclusiveness rhetoric during GE12 and GE13, after which they started to push through their own agenda.

Hence, they have been kicked out by Pakatan Rakyat. To equate Pakatan Harapan to BN, which has been around for so long, is not a logical comparison. Pakatan Harapan needs time.

Retired Citizen: Whether Pakatan wins or loses in the two by-elections will not change a thing at federal or state level. Pakatan must field a candidate in each of the by-elections (PKR in Sungai Besar and Amanah in Kuala Kangsar) to test the waters and gauge the relative strength of the parties involved, knowing that PAS outside Pakatan is not that strong.

Regardless of the outcome, the result will be extremely useful for Pakatan to strategise in GE14. Let the electorate know that a vote for PAS is a vote for Umno and Umno is a gone case. PAS needs to be divorced once and for all, as long as Hadi leads the party. The results of the by-elections should then be used to prepare the groundwork for GE14.

Anonymous #12566075: The opposition coalition with current PAS leaders is always an unstable one. Perhaps it is best that three-cornered fights be contested in these two by-elections. Allowing PAS and BN a one-on-one contest is not the solution.

Tangling: PAS is a thorn in any coalition government. whether in BN or Pakatan Harapan, it has always worn a hat that's many sizes too big. PAS needs to be taught a lesson in humanity. Amanah is any time a better alternative.

Lamps: Azmin is in trouble. Amanah and DAP do not believe him anymore. PAS started to fight him after he said Hadi was not aware of what was going on in PAS and he faced resistance from his own party leaders. Give up, Azmin. A vote for PAS is a vote for Umno.
