K KANGSAR POLLS Perak PAS is using Kuala Kangsar candidate Ahmad Termizi Ramli's youngest brother, Dzorif Ramli, who is Kuala Kangsar PAS Youth chief, to attack the Amanah candidate.

The party’s state commissioner Razman Zakaria revealed yesterday that Dzorif had been campaigning against Termizi in the parliamentary seat.

"Dr Ahmad Termizi is the eldest son, but his youngest brother, ustaz Dzorif Ramli, is the Kuala Kangsar PAS Youth chief," he said.

"If he (Termizi) is right, why didn’t his brother follow him?" he asked at ceramah in Kampong Ketior, which is about 15 minutes away from Kuala Kangsar town centre.

"This shows... the youngest brother, a religious cleric, knew something was not right," he said.

Meanwhile, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan described both PAS candidates as professionals.

"Dr Najiha is a doctor, not a sales assistant. (Sungai Besar candidate) Dr Abdul Rani Osman is a doctor - he has a clinic, he has stethoscope and prescribe medicine.

"If Termizi were to treat a flu patient, the police would arrest him," he quipped. "He is (only) a research doctor and the people would not consider him a professional."

He also took a swipe at BN candidate Mastura Mohd Yazid, whom he said would keep quiet in Parliament.

"I can guarantee that the BN candidate will not speak in Parliament for the people. Why, even (Umno and BN) male parliamentarians dare not speak up and raise problems involving the government.

"Not only parliamentarians are not raising issues, but even the (former) deputy prime minister (Muhyiddin Yassin) was removed after speaking out against the prime minister.

"Cabinet minister (Shafie Apdal) and (Kedah) menteri besar (Mukhriz Mahathir) were also removed," he told a 50-strong crowd at a ceramah held in Kampung Ketior last night.

Kampung Ketior, a small polling district of 493 voters, was won by BN at the 2013 general election. The ruling coalition pulled in 57.2 percent of the votes.

When contacted, Dzorif, 39, told Malaysiakini through a text message: "I cannot make press statement. No comment.”

Meanwhile, Termizi's stepmother Raja Nor Azian Raja Adenan reportedly said she was happy that her son was contesting in Kuala Kangsar.

"I am glad (that he is contesting) as he wants to defend the rakyat and he is interested to join politics," she was quoted as saying by the Amanah bulletin.

"He considers me like a real mother."
